We came to DC for the swearing in of our friend Mike Lee the new US Senator. We are in front of the white house with our good friends the Smuins who joined us on this trip.
Went on an early 7:00am run around The Mall where we saw the Washington Monument and The Abraham Lincoln Memorial. It was early and cold, so we were able to enjoy this time by ourselves and honor our previous president and those who gave their lives for our country.
On returning from our run, we saw our Senator Mike Lee and his wife Sharon in front of the White House. They are our neighbors and she visit teaches me. We were so excited.
We were able to go on a night tour of many monuments and memorials. We were lucky enough to have the Senator teach us about everything. It was amazing to see everything at night.
This is the day of the Swearing in of our new Senator.
These are some ward members that came out to DC in support of Mike Lee
Mike Lee and his family at the reception after the ceremony. He gave a great speech.
Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Justice Alito
Senator Orin Hatch was there. We got to rub shoulders with amazing individuals at this party
We are inside the building the Library of Congress. It is so beautiful and ornate and houses every document and book that was ever patented.
